Dean Campbell is the President of Perigon Beverage Group. He started in the hospitality industry while attending Queen's University in Kingston, Ont. After being tasked with managing his first wine list, his career path altered forever and his journey into the world of wines began...
Dean continues to immerse himself in the world of wines, spirits, beer and cider and has never stopped studying his craft. His list of credentials is extensive and his personal travels to wineries, distilleries and breweries are too many to mention:
- Beverage Alcohol Resource Certification, New York, USA 2010
- International Bordeaux Educator, CIVB 2007
- Diploma - Wine & Spirits Education Trust, London, UK 2004
- Sommelier Diploma - International Sommelier Guild, Toronto, Ontario 1999
Dean is also an educator: He teaches WSET Diploma level as well as all levels of WSET Spirits courses offered through the Independent Wine Education Guild in Toronto, Canada's oldest independent wine school. Dean was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of IWEG in February 2019 to help lead the school through it's shift to a registered charity and brand redevelopment.
Regardless of Dean's credentials, ultimately his philosophy on wine is simple; "If you like it, it’s a great wine." He has always taken the approach of trying to understand what someone likes to make recommendations that matches their tastes. Wine brings people together and is about connection and community.
Feel free to reach out to Dean directly for any wine or spirits related questions.
