Chenin Blanc 'La Cotte Mill'
Named after the old mill houses that were once famous landmarks in the Valley, this Chenin Blanc features fleshy peach and pineapple aromas supported by a bright burst of citrus and some leesy intrigue
While the Loire Valley may be the viticultural birthplace of Chenin Blanc, the variety has found a second home in South Africa. Representing 18% of the country’s total acreage under vine, Chenin Blanc is currently that country’s most widely planted grape.
Vibrant pineapple, fleshy peach, nectarine and honeysuckle aromas supported by a pure line of bright citrus and tropical fruit. Subdued at first blossoming with intrigue on the palate and finishing with zesty freshness and grace.
VINEYARDS The vineyards vary in age from 3 to 30 years. The vineyards are planted on a variety of soil types for optimal performance. A combination of trellised and bush vines with a yield of between 5 and 11 tons per hectare.
The grapes undergo a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel followed by 4 months on the lees with occasional stirring for added richness and complexity.
