Queenston Mile Vineyard
It's about going the extra mile - upscale never tasted so down to earth.
A delicious medium-plus-bodied Chardonnay with ripe pear, apple pie, butterscotch, dried pineapple, lemon cream and toasty oak spice flavours silky smooth on the palate. Great acidity for food. Pair with roast chicken. Drink: 2020-2023. Score - 90. (nataliemaclean.com, June 9, 2020)
The nose has intense tropical fruit and citrus notes with underlying butter, vanilla and butterscotch notes. A full, exotic Chardonnay with big fruit character and creamy oak to match. The palate is rich and full with creamy oak notes framing a rich fruit mid palate, all balanced by subtle acidity.
Niagara Chardonnay grapes were harvested the first week in October 2017. Grapes arrived at the winery at an average of 22deg brix. The juice was 100% oak barrel fermented with a variety of yeast strains and aged for a further 10 months in older oak barrels, on original lees, but with minimal stirring. Bottled September 2008, and then bottle aged for almost one year.
