The Sauvignon Blanc grape originated from France’s Bordeaux and Loire valley regions. These vines are heat tolerant and grow quickly, requiring consistent pruning for best results. This Fume Blanc originates from two of the oldest Beamsville Bench vineyards
including the Kew Estate vineyard and a fifty-year-old vineyard on Mountainview Road.
In Ontario, Fume Blanc must consist solely of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Harvested midseason and aged in older French oak, lends a subtle toasted quality to the wine. We
believe this wine demonstrates our winemaker’s artistic craftsmanship and showcases the depth of the character of the fruit.
Classic notes of gooseberry and citrus, along with a hint of grass and honeysuckle on the
nose, soften to notes of ripe pineapple. With a fresh but soft mouth feel, notes of pear,
grilled pineapple and lemon follow through on the palate and are complimented by toasted
pecan on the crisp and fresh finish.
