Roger Voss awarded this Vintage 91 Point.

Red wine from Douro, Duriense, Portugal

91 Points Roger Voss Wine Enthusiast

The wine has a fine balance of fruit and tannins. Both are aided by the generous wood aging that brings a touch of toast while leaving the ripe fruitiness intact. Drink this structured, rich wine from 2020. ROGER VOSS

The red wine Dona Matilde Reserva is produced from the region’s own grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Amarela and fermented by the traditional method of treading the grapes by foot in granite tanks. It aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The colour is ruby and the aroma is intense and complex to black plum and fig, followed by cedar. In the mouth the wine is voluptuous and with a good acidity. Tannins are well present but very smooth, resulting in a perfect balance and long-lasting after taste.
