Blanc de Noirs
Our 2017 Blanc de Noirs is made solely from the Pinot Noir grape. This sparkling wine is a wonderful example of Niagara’s exceptional cool climate Pinot Noir producing region.
After the War of 1812, the Canadian government awarded Richard Kew the plot of land on which the vineyard sits today. His brother William maintained ownership of the land and ran a successful carriage making business out of the very house in which our retail space is located.
Making a white wine from a red grape requires great care. Juice from gentle, whole berry pressing was fermented in stainless steel. On lees for almost three years, yeast contact in the bottle harmonized all of the elements together, resulting is a
beautiful, copper coloured wine with a very fine mousse and lively effervescence.
On the nose, there is a beautiful balance between a rich biscuity characteristic and notes of bright red cherry. On the palate, a stunning effervescence complements hints of fresh strawberry, ripe red apple, and a touch of toasted almond. This
sparkling wine is both complex and fresh while remaining remarkably smooth on
